Pay Yourself First: AM Workouts
I have cultivated a solid workout routine in the most unpredictable era of my life. I travel constantly for work and go to new areas often. So working out can be a chore. But the single biggest driver for me is to PAY MYSELF FIRST.
I have very intentionally created a system where I wake up early. I spend some time journaling/self-care (looks different on the daily) and then I get my movement in. Whether its a walk, a run, or lifting, I always get it done in the morning.
I have watched myself play it out time and time again. I dont work out in the morning promising to do it after work. Then its 100 degrees all day, or I get 15k steps at work, or coworkers invite me to dinner, or my motivation is just shit.
I know I can control the first 2 hours of my day. I do not know what is could happen in the next 12 that could derail my evening plans. So I just get it done in the morning :).
Disclaimer: This works for me in this season. I know we all dont have the same 24 hours and I would actually love to hear how you schedule your days to work for you!
