May 2023 Book Reviews
In 2023, my reading goal is 100 books! I want to read 25 of those and listen to 75. Last year, I was in a job where I could listen to things A LOT. I was able to consume 155 audio books. Some were amazing, some were average, but all of them made the day more fun.
This year, my reading and listening has slowed for a few reasons. After so many books last year, I was just a little burned out. I also moved out of a role where I did a lot of mindless work, to one where I have had to focus more. I am also surrounded by people more so I am not listening 100% of the time. And honestly, its kind of a nice change. I love to be engrossed in books, but love real connection too.
Lets get into my May 2023 reads!
Paris: The Memoir By Paris Hilton
Too Hot Too Handle by Tessa Bailey
I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi
Runaway Groomsman by Meghan Quinn
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I am a 90’s baby, but I was kinda young for the OG influencer generation and I wasnt really into celebrities. However, I found Paris Hilton’s memoir (read by her) totally engrossing. I was shocked by many of the things she went through as a young girl. This is a top recommendation of mine for this year. It was well done and a very good book. Add it to your TBR and thank me later.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As you have probably figured out, I like just about every genre of books. I really love romance books as well. I have loved all of Tessa Bailey’s books. I usually listen to those, but I read this one on my kindle and I couldn't put it down. Like I finished it super quickly because I was engrossed.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow, all the books last month were so good. IWT You to Be Rich was such a well done book. It talks about the emotional side of money and helps combat the little voices in your head. Millennials. GenZ, its a must read.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Runaway Groomsman was lighthearted and fun. Overall a good romance book. My only complaint is that Meghan gets really long winded and I think her books are unnecessarily long.
Honestly, I am a bad critic. I like most books, and I think everyone has their own opinion. However, I love reading about books and peoples thoughts!
If you have read any of these, I would love to discuss. Feel free to shoot me an email or connect with my on GoodReads. Also, let me know your recommendations below.
