June 2023 Book Reviews

In 2023, my reading goal is 100 books! I want to read 25 of those and listen to 75. Last year, I was in a job where I could listen to things A LOT. I was able to consume 155 audio books. Some were amazing, some were average, but all of them made the day more fun.

This year, my reading and listening has slowed for a few reasons. After so many books last year, I was just a little burned out. I also moved out of a role where I did a lot of mindless work, to one where I have had to focus more. I am also surrounded by people more so I am not listening 100% of the time. And honestly, its kind of a nice change. I love to be engrossed in books, but love real connection too.

Lets get into my June 2023 reads!

  • You Are Not Alone

  • You Are a Badass at Making Money

  • Unfortunately Yours

  • On Our Best Behavior

  • Forever, Interrupted

  • Love, Theoretically

  • Yours Truly

  • The Comfort Crisis

  • Romantic Comedy

⭐⭐⭐⭐ You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkane. I was HOOKED by this one. It was so engaging and so many twists and turns. I loved everything but the ending.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ You Are A Badass At Making Money by Jen Sincero. Such a good read about mindset around money. I have loved all of Jen Sincero’s book and this was such a good one too.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unfortunately Yours by Tessa Bailey. But why are Tessa Baileys books so good? I loved this one too in the series. They are delightfully steamy and a feel good book. 10/10 recommend

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ On Our Best Behavior by Elise Loehnen. Okay, this was the most insightful book I have read all year. Woof. I begged my mom to read it so I could have someone to discuss it with. A 2023 MUST READ.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Forever, Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid. TW: loss. Taylor Jenkins Reid is SUCH a good author. And this book was as tasty as all of hers are. It was a fun engaging read.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood. Soooo many 5 star books this month. As a woman in STEM, Ali Hazelwood’s love stories about STEM are my jam. This one I flew through and loved, loved, loved.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez. Another one that I could NOT pause. I loved my runs listening to this delightfully fun book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Comfort Crisis by Michael Easter. This is a re-read and a great one at that. I love this book and the subtle ways we can bring more discomfort into our lives.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld. Fun, lighthearted, love story. Do I need to say more.

Honestly, I am a bad critic. I like most books, and I think everyone has their own opinion. However, I love reading about books and peoples thoughts!

If you have read any of these, I would love to discuss. Feel free to shoot me an email or connect with my on GoodReads. Also, let me know your recommendations below.
