April 2023 Books Reviews

In 2023, my reading goal is 100 books! I want to read 25 of those and listen to 75. Last year, I was in a job where I could listen to things A LOT. I was able to consume 155 audio books. Some were amazing, some were average, but all of them made the day more fun.

This year, my reading and listening has slowed for a few reasons. After so many books last year, I was just a little burned out. I also moved out of a role where I did a lot of mindless work, to one where I have had to focus more. I am also surrounded by people more so I am not listening 100% of the time. And honestly, its kind of a nice change. I love to be engrossed in books, but love real connection too.

Lets get into my April 2023 reads!

  • Glow in the F*cking Dark by Tara Schuster

  • Secretly Yours by Tessa Bailey

  • Happy Place by Emily Henry

  • Spare by Prince Harry

  • Vacation Wars by Meghan Quinn

⭐⭐⭐⭐ I really liked Glow in the F*cking Dark. I think its so interesting to read people's life stories. To see all the hardships they overcame to get to where they are. Tara is an excellent writer and I really enjoyed this book

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As you have probably figured out, I like just about every genre of books. I really love romance books as well. I have loved all of Tessa Bailey’s books. I usually listen to those, but I read this one on my kindle and I couldn't put it down. Like I finished it super quickly because I was engrossed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Overall, the hype around Emily Henry is on point. I have really enjoyed all of her books, but Happy Place is probably at the very top. I thought it was fun, lighthearted, and made me smile.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have to admit, I am not a royal family fangirl. In fact, I know very little. But I was intrigued by this book. If I am 100% honest, it was super slow at the beginning and his narration and accent was a little hard to follow. However, the second half was so interesting! I learned to much about the royal family.

⭐⭐⭐ It was good. It kept my attention, but imo it was way too long. I loved the plot and the ending. Nothing special, but a feel good story is always a win for me.

Honestly, I am a bad critic. I like most books, and I think everyone has their own opinion. However, I love reading about books and peoples thoughts!

If you have read any of these, I would love to discuss. Feel free to shoot me an email or connect with my on GoodReads. Also, let me know your recommendations below.
